About the Rank Predictor

RankGuruji's Rank Predictor is a free tool that estimates your expected rank in government competitive exams like RRB ALP, RRB NTPC, RRB JE, SSC GD, AFCAT, and more. After you calculate your score on the answer key page, this tool instantly shows your predicted overall rank, category rank, zone rank, shift rank, and branch rank based on real data collected from thousands of candidates.

How Rank Prediction Works

When candidates enter their scores on RankGuruji, the marks are stored in an aggregate dataset. The Rank Predictor compares your score against this live dataset to estimate where you would stand among all appeared candidates. For multi-shift exams like RRB ALP CBT-2, we also show predicted ranks based on TCS normalized and Eduquity normalized scores — the two official normalization agencies — so you can see both estimates side by side.

The predicted rank is an estimate based on data submitted by candidates on RankGuruji. Accuracy depends on the number of responses collected. As more candidates participate, the prediction becomes increasingly accurate. Treat it as a strong indicator, not an official result.

Overall rank is your position among all candidates who appeared for the exam. Category rank is your position only within your reserved category (UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS). Category rank is used for shortlisting against reserved vacancies, so it is equally important to check.

For multi-shift RRB exams, marks are normalized to account for difficulty variation across shifts. TCS and Eduquity are the two agencies that publish normalized scores. RankGuruji shows predicted ranks based on both normalized scores so candidates can compare their standing under each method.
