1. How do I use the Tier-1 Answer Key Calculator?

   Paste the official Tier-1 key into the first box and your answers into the second box. Use comma-separated values (A,B,C...) or a continuous string (ABCD...). Click Calculate Marks to get correct/wrong/unattempted counts and estimated marks.

2. What marking scheme does the tool use?

   By default it uses the SSC Tier-1 scheme: +2 for each correct answer and −0.5 for each wrong answer. You can change the scheme from the dropdown if your exam used different marks.

3. Which answer formats are accepted?

   The calculator accepts comma-separated strings like A,B,C,D..., continuous strings like ABCD..., or space-separated tokens. Use '-' or leave blank for unattempted questions.

4. Can I calculate section-wise marks (Quant, Reasoning, Eng, GS)?

   The current version calculates overall Tier-1 marks. For section-wise breakdowns, paste each section's key and answers separately or use the extended section-wise tool.

5. Why does my calculated score differ from an online estimate I saw?

   Differences may arise due to a different marking scheme, mismatched question numbering or keys, or the other source including negative marking or omitted questions differently. Always verify against the official SSC key.

6. Will this tool predict my final result or cutoff?

   No — this tool provides a self-assessment only. Final results, normalization and cutoffs are declared by the SSC. Use our cutoff pages for historical trends and expected ranges.

7. Can I save or export my calculated result?

   The simple version does not save results server-side. You can copy the numbers manually or add features like localStorage saving, CSV download, or shareable links.

8. What if the official key is released in different sets (shift A/B/C/D)?

   Paste the official key corresponding to your shift (A/B/C/D). Ensure you use the key that matches your question paper set and numbering.

9. Who do I contact if I find a mismatch or bug in the tool?

   Report issues to your site admin or email Rank Guruji support (replace with your support email). Include the official key, your answers, and a short description of the mismatch.

10. Is the data in this tool stored or shared?

    No data is stored or transmitted in the default client-side version. All calculations occur in the browser. Any features that save data will be clearly indicated.
